Silmaril Awards Ceremony: Most Devoted Couple

“Five minutes,” I say, popping my head into the green room housing the award presenters—a truly green room, as it’s merely a smaller glade off the larger one that we’re using as an amphitheater. Faramir and Eowyn have most kindly agreed to host us in Ithilien, which is the most beautiful forest I’ve ever experienced, though some of the forests of the Pacific Northwest do come close. Silmaril Awards Ceremony: Wisest Counselor

I take a deep breath as I step out into the sunlight of the terrace above the city of Minas Tirith and lean against the railing. The sun is halfway down, and shining through the leaves of the White Tree. As much as I always say that sycamores are my favorite because they remind me of the White Tree of Gondor, they pale in comparison with the real one. I've been preparing for this award all morning and I need a little break. Luckily, I have a lot of help. Hosting the Wisest Counselor award is much more of a production than hosting any of the other awards we've hosted so far, but I and my five finalists have gotten to travel to Gondor to meet up with the award-presenting characters, other nominees, and everyone else who was invited to cheer on the finalists. *bounces into the blog* HELLO WONDERFUL PEOPLES OF THE INTERNET! I am here on a Monday in September, and you know what that means? IT'S SILMARIL TIME!!! *dances tiny jig* I'm so excited to host another Silmaril this year! They're a massive highlight of the blogging year for me (even if they make my dorm room super crowded, and last year's Silmarils resulted in the PDA levels at Newman skyrocketing exponentially ;)). In case you've never heard of these illustrious awards, and are wondering what the heck Samantha is freaking out about, the Silmaril awards are the equivalent of the Tonys or Oscars or Golden Globes...but for fantasy characters. Awarded by Tolkien and Lewis's characters in multiple awards ceremonies at the end of the month of September, each Silmaril honors a character in one of ten categories. The best part?
